SA: Give up on FTA, says Greens MP

South Australian Greens MP KRIS HANNA says Australia should give up on reaching a free
trade agreement with the United States.

Mr HANNA says it's clear from talks between federal Trade Minister MARK VAILE and his
US counterpart ROBERT ZOELLICK that the United States won't make concessions on dairy,
beef and sugar.

He says the HOWARD government should give up on the deal now, rather than trying to
save face by continuing with hopeless talks.

Mr HANNA says no country around the world has benefited from such a deal with America.
