Fed: More ADF willing to take anthrax vaccinations - Cosgrove

Defence Force Chief General PETER COSGROVE says the Australian Defence Force is workingto allay concerns about anthrax vaccinations and has convinced more personnel to be inoculated.

General COSGROVE did not confirm news reports that at least 40 ADF personnel has refusedto be vaccinated against anthrax because they feared side effects.

But he told the Nine Network the numbers are dropping.

He says the military is still working with a number of people who have expressed concernsand the ADF is seeking to meet those concerns and explain what the issues are.

So far 11 sailors have been confirmed as heading home from ships in the Persian Gulfafter refusing the voluntary vaccinations.
